As you can have really long texts in there you do not want in the menu I would
consider that this behaviour is not too bad. Proper elipsizing would better,
but corrently we should be able to live with the current behaviour.

Actually there should be such a button in the window decoration. It is missing
from some matchbox themes. It would be a good idea to file this against the
ustream matchbox themes.

Well, IMO the details is meant for longish texts - not a book, but it could be
a paragraph or more. And that would certainly require line breaks, as you can
see in the attachment a single sentence can be long enough to require line
breaks (unless you make the font smaller, but I don't really think that is the
way to go).
What you are talking about is the title, which I agree should be short, and not
require automatic line breaks.
