I have gpe-calendar 2.8+maemo+svn20080114-2 installed on my N810. I have my
personal Google Calendar hooked up with gpe-calendar, which works fine.
However, when I delete an event from Google Calendar, and then refresh it in
gpe-calendar - that deleted event doesn't disappear. When I add new event in
GC, then refresh gpe - new event appears, but that old deleted event is still
there.
I've manually checked *.ics file that is provided by GC to synchronize events,
and it doesn't contain that event, hence problem probably lies in gpe-calendar
itself.

Multi-day events are spread across multiple lines (line per day basis) on
Desktop Applet for Maemo/OS2008. Please have a look at screenshot attached.
Event 'Testing event for gpe-calendar' lasts for 4 days (Thu-Sun), hence is
repeated 4 times on the applet, which is basically a waste of space. Preferable
format would be:
Thu-Sun: Testing event for gpe-calendar

It would be useful if the user could define field mappings for import (and,
maybe, export?) of vCards. It would be even more useful if these rules could
be saved and selected or applied by default to future imports.

The error message doesn't make much sense: there is no 'do' in that function.
The line it mentions is a macro (LIVE) which should expand to a call to
g_assert (which is probably a macro itself).
The code compiles perfectly well in the Maemo environment.
You may want to check out your glib header files to see what g_assert expands
to and see if you can make sense of the error message.

I can't reproduce this (on Maemo) but it seems unlikely to be platform
specific.
If you have an .ics file which reproduces this please re-open the bug.

I believe this is working as designed. The Google calendar is imported and
adds events but no assumption is made that these are the only events -- the
user might have added some more events locally. So nothing is deleted just
because it is not present in the Google calendar.
Would it be acceptable to delete all events in the calendar before importing
(for a Subscribe calendar, of course, not for a Local calendar)? Or would we
need to track whether each event came originally from Google?

I have looked into this a little, although I don't have a fix yet. Some notes
to remind me for the future:
I can reproduce this. I am currently in April and I can't make it happen for
events in April, but can make it happen for events in March. It must be
something to do with daylight saving time.
Also, for me, the event appears on the right day and the day BEFORE, not the
day after. Presumably the original poster is in a different time zone from me.
gpesyncd shows that the event has been stored with:
DTEND:20070328
DTSTART:20070327
If I add a new event with dtstart and dtend set to the same day it reads back
with dtend incremented by one day.
More work required to see if the bug is when the event is created or when it is
displayed, and whether we need to add an "all day" flag to the record (but, if
so, how would it be represented for sync).

I can reproduce this but do not have a fix yet. The problem is that the event
is not being stored in the database correctly. When the event is displayed in
the Edit screen (or in gpesyncd) it appears to just be recurring monthly on
that date.

I fixed some bugs in this area earlier in the year. There seemed to be a gtk
or hildon bug involed as well, which I worked around.
The problem of the details being blank has been fixed. The problem of the
expanding dialog box has not, and won't be (at least, not until I can remove
the workround). I am going to mark the bug as fixed because the main problem,
at least, is fixed.

I think the most logical and intuitive solution would be just complete
mirroring the remote calendar. For example, when I add and/or delete things in
GC, I want to see these changes straight away in gpe as well. That kind of
behaviour I'd expect. Of course when I add events manually in gpe, I add them
to the local calendar, so they won't be affected at all by synchronisation with
remote calendar.
