It would be great if you could make it work.

Opensync works against GPE (including contacts, accessed using libcontactsdb).  
What I haven't tested is whether the evo-sync plugin works against Maemo EDS. 
In fact, I haven't even tried to build the evo plugin for Maemo yet.

I hope to have the initial set of opensync packages available either in my 
repository or, even, in extras-devel soon so that people can try things like 
this out and see what happens.
