I can't reproduce this problem.

The usual reason for a GPE process to appear to hang (with high CPU usage) is
that sqlite has decided it has to do a lot of work. Sometimes this is
housekeeping (some GPE libraries request database compacting when the database
is closed for example). Other times it is applying journals or writing out
changes which have accumulated in memory. In some cases these operations can
take a few minutes (if the database has many entries).

Normally these sort themselves out -- if you let the "hung" processes keep
going for a few minutes and complete what it is trying to do there is often no
further problem. However, it is possible that in your case some database
corruption has occurred and the problem is never going to be resolved.

If you can reproduce the problem, please go to the /home/user/.gpe directory
and take a copy of the calendar file (and any files with "journal" in their
names). Please send me the calendar database (and the journal files if any)
and I will see if I can reproduce the problem.

By the way, the calendar file contains all your calendar data. You probably do
not want to attach it to this bug report for all to read. If you email the
file to me I will treat it as confidential and not pass it on.

Graham
