I would volunteer as a mentor, although I would prefer to be joint mentor with 
someone else (two mentors for each project).  My google mail email address

Is there a problem that students would need a supported handheld in order to 
do useful projects?  I can think of several useful projects (several 
enhancements to gpe-calendar, synchronisation GUI, etc.) as can, I am sure, 
many others, and the students themselves.  But the need to have a device 
could, surely, be a problem.

Of course, if Google could supply our student with a Nokia Internet Tablet or 
something I am sure there would be a long queue lined up to work on our 
projects :-)
